The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra’s 2015-16 concert season continue on Tuesday, November 3rd at 8pm with “The Caribbean Tinge with Pianist Elio Villafranca”. The program will be held at the Square Room on Market Square, located at 4 Market Square, next door to the Tomato Head.Elio Villafranca is at the forefront of the latest generation of remarkable Cuban pianists, composers and bandleaders that has been making major creative contributions to the international development of modern jazz. His unbelievable command of the instrument and deep understanding of a diverse array of musical styles makes him a favorite of musicians, critics and audiences alike. The program will feature brand new arrangements exploring the richness and vitality of the Caribbean musical tradition.

The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra is a 17 piece big band comprised of professional musicians from across the region. Since its inception in 1999, the orchestra has performed dozens of concerts in East Tennessee, appeared on major jazz festivals in Europe, performed and recorded with internationally acclaimed guest artists, and released four critically acclaimed CD recordings.
