Knoxville’s largest free music festival will return this summer
Returning on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, Sunset on Central will feature over 20 talented bands and artists from Knoxville and the surrounding regions across multiple stages along the vibrant Central Street corridor in North Knoxville. This includes the return of an old favorite. More on that below.
Performing this year’s festival are local and regional favorites including Hey Steve, Mom Rock, Drugstore Cowboy, Willa Mae, Harper Mundy, Local Brand, Meob, High Heat, Grady Milligan, Hayden Bright, Melissa Hale, Jorden Albright, Brennan Wedl, and Ben McLaughlin & The Midnight Marauders. The eclectic lineup promises an exciting blend of indie rock, folk, soul and more. SoC will showcase the diverse musical talent thriving in Knoxville and beyond. More names will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks this summer.
Participating venues for the 2024 Sunset on Central are Yee Haw Brewing, Schulz Bräu Brewing Company, Corner Lounge and Next Level Brewing. The festival footprint will also include the return of Central Filling Station. The former food truck park will be utilized for one day only during the festivities.
“We are excited to bring such a dynamic lineup of artists to Sunset on Central this year,” says Garrett Thomson, one of the event’s organizers from Born & Raised Productions. “These performers represent the vibrant music scene that Knoxville is known for, and we can’t wait for music lovers to discover and enjoy their talents.”
In addition to the stellar musical lineup, Sunset on Central will feature local food trucks, artisan vendors and lively after parties, ensuring a day filled with entertainment and community spirit.
The 2024 edition of Sunset on Central is made possible through generous sponsorships from Nick’s Nugs, The Blom Shop and Axle Logistics.
This year, the festival will also support the local music nonprofit, Knox Music Coalition. Dedicated to strengthening and connecting Knoxville’s music scene, Knox Music Coalition provides vital educational programs, career development resources and advocacy initiatives within the community.
“We are thrilled to partner with Knox Music Coalition, the mission of which aligns perfectly with our goal of fostering local talent and enriching Knoxville’s cultural landscape,” adds Thomson.
