Nanci Solomon will reopen Rala in the Old City after moving from Union Ave. this week. After 7 years at their home on Union Avenue, Rala moved just a few blocks away to 112 W. Jackson Avenue. Their new location is one of the commercial spaces at The Daniel. Their official grand opening is this Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. Rala is pleased to feature new paintings by Sarah Moore at its new location for First Friday, 6-9 pm.Rala’s owner Nanci Solomon says “The larger space will allow us to hold events, add contemporary home goods and accessories, expand our greeting card selection and feature more original art. We look forward to joining our new neighbors in the burgeoning Old City area just in time for the celebration of art on First Friday in March.”
The new contemporary space showcases the original art and handmade goods perfectly. Solomon worked with local artist and architect, Brian Pittman, of Johnson Architecture, Inc on the design of Rala’s new space. The Daniel partners, Ron Turner and Jon Clark, managed the build out.
Rala opened in 2010 on Union Avenue as a place where Knoxville could show off its rich community of artists and makers. They will continue to provide a venue for modern goods and gifts made with love by artists from around the corner and across the world.
Hours of operation will remain the same: Monday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m – 6 p.m.
