An Intimate Performance by Lissie

Tuesday night marked the beginning of a brand new series of music showcases by the United Talent Agency (UTA). Singer-songwriter Lissie kicked off the “U Should Hear this” series, playing an intimate performance on the penthouse level of a high rise in the heart of Hollywood.

Lissie is currently promoting her new album “When I’m Alone: The Piano Retrospective,” a reinterpretation of songs from her first decade in music. The new album was released in April and, among her own material, includes a Fleetwood Mac cover of Dreams. Listeners on Tuesday evening were treated to a sample of her new material. Lissie’s powerful vocals along with the backdrop of a stunning Los Angeles sunset made this a particularly special night. To top it off, attendees were treated to an open bar and burgers.

UTA’s goal of their new “U Should Hear This” showcase series is to connect artists with the Los Angeles entertainment industry in order to open doors and create collaboration/networking opportunities. Lissie wasn’t shy to throw out her ambitions to have her songs placed in a movie. “I’d really like to put an addition on my house,” she said, with a sly smirk on her face.

Catch her tomorrow, Friday 5/3 at 8:00 PM at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles. For additional shows, check out her tour calendar on her website Lissie.com.
