The festival landscape is a crowded one in North America.
It seems like there are a dozen of regional new festivals that pop up each year and thousands of new community gatherings take place across the country from the time the weather breaks until it gets too cold for outdoor activity. In a dense field, it can be hard for promotors to find a way to stick out from the pack.
That’s where Innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona comes in.
Each year, thousands of baseball fans make the trek to see their teams play in either the Cactus or the Grapefruit Leagues for Spring Training. So Tim Sweetwood and friends at C3 decided to accommodate those fans headed to Arizona with a little music while they’re there.
Never before has music and baseball had a marriage like this and the concept has folks who are not normally festival attendees rubbing their chins with intrigue. The initial lineup for the inaugural Innings fest is below and it’s very good.

Chris Stapleton, Queens of the Stone Age and The Avett Brothers have been confirmed to headline the inaugural Innings Festival, set to take place March 23-25, 2018 at Tempe Beach Park & Arts Park in Tempe, AZ. The lineup also includes Counting Crows, Young the Giant, The Head and the Heart, The Decemberists, Dispatch, Cold War Kids, Local Natives, Lord Huron, Sylvan Esso, and many more. The three-day event will also feature culinary demos with Chef Beau MacMillan and professional baseball players, curated food vendors, and fun family activities.
