Greensky Bluegrass 1/14/15 Recap and Story of Their Last Visit to Knoxville (Video)

The “Help Me Jam” has an oh so interesting story. What you missed on the video is short and sweet. A long time ago, when Greensky Bluegrass was still finding their way, the boys played our fair city. After their show, they found a $30.00 hotel room to which the cab driver had no desire to drive them. The rest is detailed in the above video.

Their 2 hour and 40 minute split set only grew in intensity. It is a rare occasion for a band to play until midnight in a theater show and judging by the response, they could have played all night. Set highlights included “Burn Them,” “Ain’t No Bread in the Breadbox” and “The Wind Cries Mary.”

The show was filled with dancing. By whom? Well, everyone to be exact. Knoxville’s Bijou Theater was turned into a GA party experience (which really should happen more often), freely allowing the audience to get down wherever their heart so desired. High fives? We had ’em. Whoops of joy? You got it. Pole dancing? I tried. Apparently it’s frowned upon for guys to bring their own pole. It’s for fitness! Basically the whole town came out to party. If you missed Wednesday night’s show, you can still catch the band on their 2015 spring tour.
