Joe Bonamassa is in the business of blowing minds, and Tuesday night at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum he was all business.
Bonamassa took the stage with the confident swagger of a child prodigy who’s been honing his craft for the past 30 years, performing 9 songs in a row without interruption, opening with his rendition of Willie Dixon’s “Tiger in Your Tank,” made popular by Muddy Waters.
He continued for a solid hour addressing the audience with nothing but sonic excellence and paying tribute to the great blues artists that have come before him.
Bonamassa then took a few moments to speak to the crowd announcing his recent relocation to Nashville to which the self proclaimed carpetbagger received an enthusiastic, Tennessee welcome.
After introducing his talented, well accomplished band he got back to business with “Never Make your Move to Soon.” The show concluded with Bonamassa working the crowd into a pandemonious frenzy performing “Mountain Time.”
The concert as a whole exceeded the already high expectations of both long time fans as well as those experiencing a Bonamassa show for the first time.
