3D Record Release Party, March 6 @ Scruffy City Hall

Celebrating new releases from Tim Lee 3, Kevin Abernathy, and Bark

The Tim Lee 3, Kevin Abernathy, and Bark have planned a big record release party for March 6 at Scruffy City Hall to celebrate the release of the TL3’s fourth studio album, “33-1/3,” Abernathy’s second solo album “Ain’t Learned Yet,” and the debut EP from Tim and Susan Lee’s duo side project, Bark.

“33-1/3” features 11 songs from Tim, Susan, and drummer Chris Bratta recorded with long-time collaborator Craig Schumacher at Schumacher’s famed Tucson, Arizona, recording studio WaveLab. Band friends Christina Horn (Hudson K) and Greg Horne make appearances along with Tucson steel guitar whiz Joe Novelli and Schumacher. Abernathy’s “Ain’t Learned Yet” was recorded at various studios in Knoxville and blurs the line between the guitarist/singer/songwriter’s earlier hard rockin’ albums and his 2012 acoustic outing, “Some Stories.” Produced by Abernathy and Tim Lee, “Ain’t Learned Yet” features 12 songs with appearances from a wide range of Knoxville talent, including Abernathy’s band consisting of Gray Comer, Mike Murphy, and Barry “Po” Hannah. Bark’s debut was recorded live by John Harvey and Mary Podio at their Top Hat Recording, which has recently moved to Knoxville from Austin. The eight songs feature Susan Bauer Lee on drums and vocals with Tim on Bass VI, guitar, and vocals.

The show kicks off with a set from Bark at 8 p.m., followed by Abernathy and his band at 9, and the TL3 afterwards. Several special guests will take part as well. Cover charge is $5, and the first 25 paid will receive a special 3D poster and a pair of 3D glasses. All three releases, as well as other merchandise, will be available for purchase at the show.
