Kinnection Campout

Kinnection Campout is back again in 2018 when we converge at the majestic riverside venue of Spirit Crossing in eastern Tennessee. We’re stoked to have found a new home that offers picturesque riverfront camping, plenty of space for car camping, and of course, the mountain privacy to experience 4 days of magic together just the way we like it!

This gathering offers 80+ international and regional musical acts in a wide range of genres, 100+ workshops, a huge gallery full of live painters, Funktion One Sound, and ceremony throughout the weekend. World fusion glitch-hop pioneer Kalya Scintilla is headlining along with the sounds of legendary psydub producer Entheogenic and the prolific world fusion EDM producer Kaya Project. With everything from deep tribal house to reggae jam bands and progressive psytrance to Appalachian acoustic folk hop, this gathering has something for everyone!

In a time when a new music festival seems to pop up every other day, there are plenty of options to choose from. Each event has its own unique flavor based on a variety of factors ranging from the artist lineup to the location, from the participants to the intentions of the people behind the event. After years of touring music festivals around the world, we have begun to distill and integrate the lessons learned, and we have taken the opportunity to bring all the most crucial facets of cultural redesign home to our community.

The Campout is designed to be an intimate gathering focused on community building where our tribe can drop in a bit deeper with each other, form lasting connections, and celebrate life together. We intentionally use the word “gathering” instead of “festival” because in our experience, festivals are big parties, and while we love to party, we are looking for something more familiar, lasting and fulfilling. We believe in the power of integrating the wisdom of traditional tribal culture with the emerging modern visionary culture. The Campout is our humble attempt to integrate the power of praying, dancing, and learning into an experience that offers a tangible glimpse into a holistic way of relating to each other, to ourselves, and to the entire breathing world of which we are part.
