Nourish Knoxville is pleased to announce the celebration of our 15-Year Anniversary and the opening date of the 2018 Market Square Farmers’ Market for Wednesday, May 2nd , 11a.m.-2p.m. Patrons will be able to shop for a variety of locally-grown produce and artisanal goods, participate in a Taste of the Market celebration with farmers’ market vendors, share their favorite farmers’ market memories, eat celebration cookies provided by VG’s Bakery, and participate in our 15-year photo booth. The City of Knoxville’s Mayors Office will be celebrating with us, reading a proclamation at 11a.m.
“Nourish Knoxville’s Market Square Farmers’ Market is proud to celebrate 15 years of cultivating healthy communities by supporting relationships between local farmers, producers, and the public. Our market has grown from less than 10 vendors, to more than 150 seasonal participants. Our community has embraced our amazing vendors, and their support has allowed our market and organization to have a leading role in growing the local food community in East Tennessee,” says Charlotte Tolley, Nourish Knoxville executive director.
The Market happens every Wednesday and Saturday on Market Square from May 2 – November 17. In honor of our 15-year anniversary, we’ll be hosting a variety of events throughout 2018 and kicking-off our Friends of the Market Donor Campaign.
