Bandsintown Shares Grammy Best New Artist Data Prediction
2017 was a standout year for music, especially when it came to new artists. Acts from every endof the spectrum dropped music that moved the needle, broke barriers, and established them as the industry’s new voices. The Grammy’s nominees reflected that this year, as all five artists (Khalid, Julia Michaels, Alessia Cara, SZA, and Lil Uzi Vert) worked hard, and toured relentlessly in support of their projects, whether it was a debut album or new single.
Based on our live music data from the past twelve months, however, Bandsintown predicts that R&B singer-songwriter Khalid will nab the award, as his touring efforts across 79 cities brought him from 8,562 Trackers to a whopping a 246,713, meaning a 2442% increase in Tracker growth.
He also picked up the top spot for the average number of 663 RSVPs per event, with a total of
90,181 RSVP’s in 2017 – more than 10 times the average RSVPs of the other nominees.
Regardless of Sunday’s results, here’s to seeing even more live shows from Khalid, Julia Michaels, Alessia Cara, SZA, and Lil Uzi Vert in 2018!
