Check out Arroyo Seco this weekend!

It’s going to be a sunny and hot weekend. What better way to start your summer than with a local two-day festival in Pasadena? More than just the greatest music known to man, Arroyo Seco will feature art installations, an air-conditioned vinyl record store, a Kidspace Children’s Museum with an instrumental petting zoo, a craft studio, little libraries and an interactive scent lab in its inaugural year.

The festival, which will take place this Saturday, June 24, and Sunday, June 25, will feature Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (Saturday) and Mumford & Sons (Sunday) as the headlining acts, along with Weezer, the Shins, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, Alabama Shakes and more. The event will feature three stages on Pasadena’s Brookside Golf Course property.

Trying to keep it local, the festival partnered with local arts groups to bring fun installations to the site. Vroman’s Bookstore will serve as the festival’s “official library,” organizing “little libraries” on the festival grounds. Furthermore, many of the participating restaurants and vendors will be Pasadena-based. Check out the full list of available yum-yums here. And for all you planners, for $80 you can even order a picnic basket in advance, featuring a full three-course meal for two, beverage vouchers, snacks and other unique festival necessities.

The festival will run from noon to 11:00pm on Saturday, and noon to 10:00pm on Sunday. A Day Parking Pass will be included in your ticket order, but you don’t want to add to the LA smog. Consider taking the Metro (the Gold Line will get you there) or Lyft (car pools for efficiency!). For Metro-riders, there will be FREE shuttles to the festival from 10:30am until 1:00 am (Saturday)/12:00am (Sunday) from Parsons Parking Lot B. Or go extra green and pedal to the festival. There will be free bike valet parking. Details here.

Enough said. Head on over to Arroyo Seco’s website to secure your tickets and start digging through your closet for those sun hats. See you on the green!
