Internationally acclaimed East Tennessee’s Own WDVX listener supported radio station is bringing back Camperfest as part of the station’s 20 year anniversary. The Camperfest Reunion will feature Grammy nominated and nationally recognized headliner Darrell Scott along with perennial favorite Scott Miller and the Commonwealth and Jill Andrews. The festival will happen May 5 & 6 at Dumplin Valley Farm, in Kodak, TN.
“A recurring request from many of our longtime listeners and supporters is, ‘Bring back Camperfest’. Well, in honor of our 20 year anniversary it’s back as our Camperfest Reunion celebration. We are getting a tremendous response from past attendees and this is a great opportunity for new listeners and festival goers to see and experience the best in Americana music,” said WDVX General Manager Linda Billman.
Festival performers include regional favorites Robinella, Guy Marshall, Barstool Romeos, Jay Clark & the Tennessee Tree Beavers, Brendon James Wright and the Wrongs, Alex Leach & the Clinch Mountain Boys, the Lonetones, Red Shoes and Rosin, Four Leaf Peat, Kevin Abernathy Band, Eli Fox, Night Colors, and the Appalachian Hippie Poet.
Camperfest Reunion celebrates the iconic WDVX 14-foot Camper Broadcast Studio that started it all in 1997 and the Camperfest Americana Music Festival, which happened annually from 1998 – 2007, and brought together listeners and local and national artists for a weekend of great music and fellowship. The Camper will be on site and open for tours. Early bird weekend passes are $40 until April 14. Gate price is $50. Day passes are also available and currently discounted. Tickets are available at WDVX during business hours and online at wdvx.com.
The event is supported by WBIR-TV/Tegna, New Belgium Brewing Company, Blank Newspaper and Knoxville Mercury. The station is a not-for-profit, public broadcaster heard locally on 89.9, 102.9, and 93.9 and streaming on wdvx.com. WDVX is a service of Cumberland Communities Communications Corporation.
